So I’m really working hard to try and get my new rock music out there for people to hear and see. It’s funny how things work out, sometimes. I’ve always had a tendency to watch for the little coincidences that happen in life, and on a certain level, I often wonder if they’re not planned… The cancellation of my August tour is no exception to this. The way that things happened, coupled with the timelines of getting P2 visas in order to be able to tour with no worries about getting turned away at the border, was something else for me to watch happen, but at the end of the day, the tour dates are simply going to be moved into October. We had a number of things happening with my band mates, death in the family, MAJOR surgery to be scheduled, etc. When you have to apply for the visa at least three months out, and those guys have all of this other, more important stuff on their minds, it really all just pointed to moving the dates.
I’m happy to report though that my touring effort has been taken over by a gentleman by the name of Rick Eberle. From what I understand of this man, he’s been around the biz for quite a long time, including having spent some time working at Arista Records, and has done all kinds of promotional stuff for Pink, Usher, etc , and has himself spent time touring with the like of The Gin Blossoms, Sugar Ray, and the Spin Doctors. Needless to say, I’m quite excited to hear how this is going to go down, and If I’m right, I should already have a bunch of dates by the next time I post here on my blog.
So I’m doing my best to be ready for this. I‘ve started the P2 visa applications for me and the band, and am looking into border services requirements for the purpose of getting our guitars and drums across the border and back without having to pay duty on them and am still working away on a costing spreadsheet, so I have an idea of what it’s going to cost me to do this. I’ve already paid for some of it, but I know that I have quite a ways to go before I get there, and I really want to make an effort to do this without going into any serious debt (As if…. Lol). In any case, I’ll be sure to keep you all apprised of what develops here, and the dates that come out of it, of course.
Also, my management company is in the works of planning a sort of, reality type show for next year. It’s going to be called Rise Up TV and it’s basically going to be a chronical of life on the road with a bunch of the musicians from Rosner Management. My own stint in this seems to be a series of dates from Windsor to Montreal, and from what I’m hearing, it may actually go to Netflix, so that’s pretty cool for all involved as well. It’s a great way to get some of these new rock music releases from bands from all over together in one place, on one tour and have the opportunity for this stuff heard by a significantly huge audience, possibly millions!
So that’s it for me, for now at least. I’ll check in again in a few weeks to let you know how this stuff is panning out….
